Commissioned by the Victoria & Albert Museum to create a site specific piece for their Friday Late: Making A Scene event, Scrawny Cat Theatre Company devised and wrote Unacknowledged Acts of Desire in response to a series of Victorian paintings depicting women in various aspects of ‘disappointed love’.

The Making A Scene event was based around themes of gender, representation, sexuality and sexual orientation. The company chose to re-imagine the subjects of the works of art as if the love that had been disappointed was that of a woman, rather than a man.
